TRANSFEREE

Acceptance of transferee from other school/college/university shall be subject to the stringent standards set by the University and to the availability of slots in the program where the transferee wishes to enroll.

Policy Guidelines and Conditions

A student from another school/college/university who wishes to transfer to the University must:

  1. have no failing grades in any course;

  2. have not been subjected to disciplinary action in the school/college/university of origin; and

  3. meet the requirements for residency in the University.

Procedures for transferring
  1. Transferee must submit the following to the Dean’s Office of the faculty/college/institute where the program of choice is offered:

  • A Letter of Intent addressed to the Dean of the faculty/college/institute where the program is offered; 

  • Submission of the original certification for passing is required.

  • Clear photocopy of duly certified transcript of records; and

  • Certificate of Good Moral Character coming from the Dean and the Head of the Office for Student Affairs of the school/college/university of origin.

 2.   The Transferee applicant shall forward the Certificate of Good Moral Character to the University’s Office for Student Affairs for clearance.

 3.   After careful evaluation of the transferee’s credentials, the Dean shall endorse the transferee to the Office of the Secretary General for approval to take the UST – Transferee’s Qualifying Test (UST – TQT).

 4.   If the transferee passes the UST – TQT, he/she must accomplish the Admission Memo and submit it to the Office of the Registrar together with his/her original copy of transfer credentials.

SHIFTER

A student is allowed to shift from one program to another, subject to the availability of slots and the requirements for shifting set by the University and the receiving College/Faculty/Institute.

Policy Guidelines and Conditions
  1. Admission of a shifter is subject to the availability of slots in the receiving college/faculty/institute.

  2. A student with nine (9) units of deficiencies in general education courses is not allowed to shift.

  3. A shifter is required to comply with the grade and other requirements set by the receiving faculty/college/institute.

  4. The shifter needs to pass the UST – Shifter’s Qualifying Test (UST-SQT).

  5. A shifter who wishes to shift to another program within the same faculty/college/institute need not take the UST Shifter’s Qualifying Test (UST-SQT).

Within the same faculty/college 

 

The shifter:

  1. Writes a Letter of Intent addressed to the Dean of the receiving faculty/college/institute.

  2. Submits the following documents to the Dean’s Office of the receiving faculty/college/institute:

    - Clear photocopy of transcript of records duly certified by the Office of the Registrar;

    - Endorsement letter coming from the Guidance Counselor of the college/faculty/institute of origin.

    - Admission Memo accomplished by the shifter.

 

Shifting from one faculty/college to another

The shifter:

  1. Writes a Letter of Intent addressed to the Dean of the faculty/college/institute indicating the program of interest.

  2. Submits the following documents to the Office of the Dean of the receiving faculty/college/institute:

    - Clear photocopy of transcript of records duly certified by the Office of the Registrar;

    - Clearance (good moral standing, no current obligations to the college/faculty and others) to shift from the Dean of his/her current college/faculty;

    - Clearance from the Office for Student Affairs;

    - Approval and endorsement of the Dean of the receiving faculty/college/institute of the shifter to the Secretary General; and

    - Final approval of the Secretary General for the shifter to take the UST - Shifter’s Qualifying Test (UST- SQT).
